# 100 Founding Member places are open

We're looking for 100 pilots to become our Founding Members. The job is to use Pilotlab Logbook, tell us what's working and what isn't, and help us find the problems before we take it wider.

[Create your free account](https://v1.pilotlab.app/sign-up/)

We've spent three years building Pilotlab around a simple idea. Your flying history should be more than rows in a logbook. Pilotlab Logbook is your own workspace for recording flights, tracking your totals, currency and milestones, and keeping notes from your flying. Later it will connect all of that to your training, your instructors and your flying club.

We can't get that right on our own, which is where you come in.

### What Founding Members get

- A permanent, numbered Founding Member badge on your account, from #1 to #100. It's yours for good.
- The founding price on Pilotlab Pro. Pro is NZ$9 a month or NZ$90 a year, including GST. Subscribe as a Founding Member and you keep that price for as long as you stay subscribed, whatever happens to the list price. If you cancel, the lock ends, and coming back later means paying the price of the day.
- Early access to new features before they go out to everyone.
- A direct line to the team on the Pilotlab community forum at community.pilotlab.app.

You don't have to subscribe to become a Founding Member. The logbook is **free**, and the badge, early access and forum access are yours either way. The founding price is there if you ever want Pro.

### How to become a Founding Member

[Create a free account](https://v1.pilotlab.app/sign-up/) and finish the Getting Started checklist inside Pilotlab. The checklist has you add or import some flights, check your totals, write a note and store one document, such as a copy of your licence or medical. Anything you store stays in your own workspace, private to you.

The first 100 pilots to finish it become Founding Members. It's first to finish, not first to sign up.

Along the way we'll ask a few short questions about how it went. Answer them if you can, but they don't affect your place.

### How the 100 are counted

Pilotlab claims your place the moment you finish the last item on the checklist. You get a notification and a welcome email with your Founding Member number. To see how far through you are, open Settings and look for Founding Member on the Profile tab.

We haven't set any places aside. Pilots who were already testing with us earn theirs the same way as everyone else.

### Who we're looking for

Student pilots, recreational pilots, private and commercial pilots, and instructors. Five hours or five thousand, we want Pilotlab to fit the way you actually fly.

Pilotlab calculates totals and currency under NZ CAA rules today. More authorities are coming. If you fly under another regulator, you're welcome to join, but those calculations won't match your rules yet.

You don't need to be a software tester or write long reports. Use it, and tell us what you think.

### When the 100 are gone

Signups stay open and the logbook stays free. The Founding Member badge and the founding price go to those first 100 pilots only.

### Bring your flying mates

Your profile has a refer-a-friend link. Get five friends signed up and we'll have a thank-you for you.

It is free to start, and you do not need a card.
